Gainax Helps Brings Leiji Matsumoto Space Opera Heroes Together In "The Zero Century – Emeraldas"

At Paris’ Japan Expo, plans were announced for a new anime film trilogy based on the creations of space opera master Leiji Matsumoto, entitled The Zero Century – Emeraldas. Evangelion’s Gainax teams up with Miss Hokusai’ s Production GoodBook on the project planned for 2020. Gainax co-founder and Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise direct Hiroyuki Yamaga helms the project with Eva original character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto doing the same here.

World Trigge r’s Toshihisa Kaiya is animation director.

Katsumi Itabashi who did mech designs for Matsumoto inspired anime including Arcadia Of My Youth. Cosmowarrior Zero, Galaxy Express 999, Galaxy Railways, Harlock Saga, and Maetel Legend goes the same here,
